Who is required to file ITR-1 and who can’t file ITR-1

ITR-1 Form is required to be filed by an individual having following income.


(1) Income from Salary up to Rs 50 lakh / Pension or

(2)Income from One House Property (excluding having loss from previous years) or

(3)Income from Other Sources like interest income (excluding having income winning from lottery & Race Horses).

 

Salary individuals having following income can't file ITR-1 Form but through ITR-2 form they can file.


(1)  Whose total income exceeds Rs.50 lakh

(2) Income from more than one house property

(3) Income from winnings from lottery or income from Race horses.

(4) Dividends received from domestic company taxable u/s 115BBDA.

(5) Having income of the nature referred to in section 115BBE or

(6) Short-term capital gains or long-term capital gains from sale of plot,shares etc. or

(7) Having agricultural income in excess of ₹5,000 or

(8) Interest, salary, bonus, commission or remuneration received by partner from a partnership firm.

(9) Having Loss  from other sources.

(10) Person want to  claim relief under section 90 and/or 91.

(11) Any resident having any asset (including financial interest in any entity) situated outside India or having signing authority in any account located outside India.

(12) Any resident having income from any source outside India.
